Arsenal take part in Premier League Reading Stars at North and South Islington libraries (click here to see some of their football related activities).

The Gunners' PLRS 2006 season was launched at North Library, with Reading Champion Philippe in attendance. The event was filmed for the BBC's Football Focus programme.

Reading Champion Freddie Ljunberg was involved in 2005's Premier League Reading Stars event on the 4th August at Highbury. The pictures from the day are below left.

Non-RTG literacy activity

Arsenal FC run programmes called 'Double Clubs', often funded by local regeneration funds. These clubs run over 24 weeks and focus on both footballing skills and literacy, with an hour spent on each.

Arsenal also has a study centre at Highbury called the Red Zone, which has a drop-in programme for adults who are interested in improving their IT skills and finding out more about Further Education opportunities. Another centre is located away from the ground where Playing for Success run programmes for 7 to 11 year-olds.
