The Potters' RIF project started in 2003, and is run by its Football in the Community programme. The club has partnered with the local library to help with book choosing, and on 24 April 2004 held its first Literacy Day. Find out more about what happened when publishers donated hundreds of free books to be given out in the family enclosure.

Reading Champion John Halls dropped into the study support centre for the launch of the Stoke City project. Paul Williams also visited, while the study support manager and trainer helped the young people to review their books.

Stoke has recently started a second RIF project and has been involved in tying the two projects into other community activites. Read the report of the project launch.

Stoke City has nominated many players as Reading Champions and two of them are currently with the club.
